Change is challenging. We are in it together.
All treatment provided at Birchside Psychological Services is rooted in evidence-based intervention.
Psychological treatment is available for children, teenagers, parents, and adults (up to the age of 65 years).
Psychoeducational and ADHD assessments are available for individuals ages 6 to 50 years

At this time, therapy services are being offered by video (telepsychology) or in person,
depending on your preference (while also taking into consideration safety guidelines)

If you have questions about telepsychology services, check out this website or ask a member of our team.

Comfortable space

Talking to someone new about personal concerns can be challenging.
The staff at Birchside Psychological Services have years of experience talking with
children, teenagers, and adults about accessing mental health support.

It can often be intimidating for people, especially children and teenagers,
to talk to someone they don't know about topics that are difficult and emotional.
A nice way to describe therapy is that the psychologist will gather information about
what is not going smoothly in life and will come up with ideas of how to make things easier.

Family-focused care

Our families and personal histories bring us to where we are today.
Every family is different and presenting concern(s) can change with time;
so there are many options about who attends therapy together.
It is important to have an ongoing discussion with the psychologist about what works for you and your family.

Therapy with children and teenagers often includes some element of parent involvement.
Who participates in the appointments will vary depending on the age of the youth, presenting concern(s), and family dynamics.
